I recommend using the concentrate.Keep the bottle in your refrigerator.No, it won't make your 'frige stink!We mix it up as needed and spray it with an inexpensive plastic pressurized sprayer.Diluted concentrate in the sprayer does not spoil, but will freeze in the winter as it is water-based.
The concetrate seems expensive, but it's much cheaper than buying the pre-mixed version.Just a light application on each plant is all that's needed to be effective.

(Because moles do have some very important beneficial aspects to the environment, and remember moles eat insects and grubs' not plant roots) Just uncover the mole's little dirt mound and find the entrance below and squirt a few shots of this down the hole. And you will find the moles or mole will stay away from this area, (a radius of 25feet or better) and a few more mole holes treated this way will keep them away for couple months. I also have some notorious rabbits eating my Saskatoon blueberry bushes (very rare Blueberries) but not any more! This product last even when it rains! The Deer won't even come around this product when they smell it! Plus the product is not poisons, very safe to animals.I find the spray works the best! As to the smell not as bad as other similar products, it kind of smells like garlic/cayenne pepper at first then it slowly dissipates but still works for long time. Well worth the cost and priced fairly reasonable here on Amazon you can't go wrong! I give it five stars!

(More customer reviews)1) This is really squirrel-proof when properly installed from a suspended wire. One of the only feeders that truly is! (NOT when put on a post). The squirrels slide off every time.

2) The plastic is "recycled" Plexiglas. I'm all for recycling, but here this product will be exposed to years of ultraviolet light; recycled plastic will not be as degradation-resistant as virgin plastic unless they add back the UV stabilizers to the polymer mix (which I doubt). My last one, several years old, cracked spontaneously one day and shattered when it fell on the patio, apparently due to degradation of the plastic.

3) You can buy spare parts at very fair prices from the manufacturer, so consider buying just the replacement parts you need. (I forgot, and bought a whole new one).

4) The one with "dividers" is best: Arundale 152 MandarinWild Bird Feeder with Seed Dividers. The model with a tray at the bottom may be less squirrel-proof depending on your installation.

(More customer reviews)Works great in our living room - they don't mention the unit makes a slight clicking sound which is a little annoying if you are bothered by things like ticking clocks, particularly if you plan to install this in the same room you sleep in, however the clicks are not rhythmic, it clicks at a varied rhythm, which doesn't bother me too much.I get used to it in the living room /TV room, but would not like it in the bedroom.Other than the subtle clicks (which I keep thinking should not be necessary, but maybe there is a reason) the unit makes no sound that I can hear.One thing that people might not understand is that it will take a week or two for the mice to leave, and during that first couple weeks you will see more mice than you have ever seen.Our cat and terrier had a ball; they caught probably two mice every day for two weeks.It's important to understand that is because the unit does work, not because the rats are laughing at it as another reviewer suggested.Also, the unit seems to be effective in the room it is installed in, but not in adjacent rooms.I'm planning to order a few more, for the outbuildings, attic and crawl space.I know they are down there! I'm pretty confident this unit is disturbing them enough to drive them out.Ollie and Boo Boo will let me know!

(More customer reviews)I've had this feeder for over a year and a half, and even though it is pricey (for a birdfeeder), it was well worth it. I have nothing against squirrels, but they have no place in my feeder. I've bought many other feeders that claim to be squirrel-proof, and this is the only one that has delivered on its promise. In almost 2 years, a squirrel has never been able to get into it. The design just makes it physically impossible for them to do so. (Plus, I have mine placed in the center of my yard, away from any trees. I believe a nearby branch would be the only way they could get onto the platform.) They will climb the pole to get a good look at the feeder, but have always just turned around and went back down to the ground. They just can't beat it. I highly recommend it.

(More customer reviews)This birdfeeder has enough going against it that I wouldn't purchase it if given another chance.The central wire makes it swing much more in the wind, making it difficult for birds to feed on a windy day.Although the cover has a button to hold the lid in place, on windy days, the button doesn't hold well and the bird food dumps all over the ground.Also, the plastic windows aren't big enough and are barely held in place by the 2 metal clips that line the side of each edge.The plastic fell out when the wind blew my feeder off a really secure branch.However, at least it didn't break.So, overall, I'm not happy with this feeder and wouldn't recommend it to others.

(More customer reviews)Maybe this works--I've been having a running war with the local raccoons and squirrels. Every winter they invade our attic which is large and odd shaped and really can not be sealed off. I've used live traps and caught a bunch (mostly raccoons) and taken them across the Missouri river to a Wildlife area so they can't be coming back. BUT, there are always more to take their place, location, location, location. Once the raccoons have their kits they will move hell and high water (good moms). I've tried using different repellents with little effect. I did not really expect this thing to work and it is not 100% but it has been a big improvement. When I first got the thing I aimed it at my cats for a test(nice guy). They were not pleased but they also really did not leave the area. I put it up in the attic in the fall and just leave it on. I do go up and aim it in different directions from time to time. The good news is no one has set up house keeping so far.The end of February early March is prime for the raccoons to give birth so "maybe" I won't be running a nursery this year. Prior to this year the raccoons moved in to the attic in the late fall/winter. Sometimes there would be "turf wars" one could scare them away but they would return. So far the only intruders have been the squirrels but they do not seem to stay. They seem to check it out but choose to leave so it has been an improvement for sure but again not a 100% solution. Now the bad, it makes noise. Not real loud but it can clearly be heard in the hall, our bedroom (just a wee bit) and most of the upstairs depending on the aim, just depends on placement. I leave it on all the time so the noise is not a great thing to have a bit annoying, but the critters are much worse. Again my cats in true form could care less (so that is sort of good, we are not trying to run them out of the upstairs) but I guess it makes enough noise in the attic to be a pest to the pests.

First, the thing works perfectly, at least for me. Before the Scarecrow, my neighbor's (big) dog left a (big) present on my lawn, every night. Since the Scarecow, never, not once.

Well, okay, once, but that leads to comment two:

The trouble is that the Scarecrow cannot distinguish between me, enjoying my garden on a fine Summer's day, and the dog, doing his thing in the middle of the night. This means that I need to be very careful to set up access to the Scarecrow from behind, so I can turn it off and not get soaked every time I walk across the lawn. Once, I forgot to turn it back on, and, sure enough, that night the dog had done its thing.

Of course this is both a critique and a compliment: the Scarecrow really works. It's just not entirely convenient. Still, I wouldn't be without it and Amazon has it for a great price and free shipping. Can't beat that.

The rabbits didn't seem to care but it sure is annoying to humans.One would assume that the sound frequency would be above the human hearing range but the unit puts out 15 Khz which can be heard by any human except the very old and deaf.I had it set to a lower sound leveland left it continuously running, but its irritating sound could be heard in the upstairs bedrooms and by the neighbors, yet we still had rabbits within 15 feet of the device.
I tried to set it on the motion detector mode with volume set all the way up.That sure got the neighbor's attention and the rabbits actually raised their ears and continued to feed on my plants.
The remote control works equally bad.If you are standing in front of the unit it (10 feet away) the remote will usually work about 50% of the time.If you are 10 feet away (just inside the house) it seldom works.I opened the remote and checked the battery which was at the proper voltage.I am a professional electrical engineer and this product needs to go back to the design department.

I also caught a family of opossoms. The animals are never hurt and can be either released into a remote wild area or taken to the animal shelter in your area. (More customer reviews)I had squirrels hanging on my tube feeders, just scooping the contents out, and then dropping off to eat on the ground.This product was recommended to me by a bird-watching friend, and boy does it work.Since I have treated my seed with it, NO SQUIRRELS.Birds, however, either like it or couldn't care less about it, because they still eat all the seed.The only thing I will say as a caution, however, is you have to handle it carefully.It is WAY STRONGER than tabasco, so do not get it on you, or in your eyes, etc.I just use it as directed, and carefully, and I've had no problems (and no squirrels!).Now all my feeders are squirrel-proof!
