(More customer reviews)I have always used old garden hose as "snakes" in the past for our two 15 X 60 ft. gardens.This year the rabbits "caught on" to my tricks.I purchased two of these inflatable snakes thinking "What the heck, it's worth a try!", and THEY WORK!No rabbits in my beans or anything else in the garden.It is October and I and put them -inflated - in my garden shed.We live in the country and tend to get mice in the old wooden shed - between the snakes and the fake owl in my shed I have NO MICE! Will purchase one or two more.

P.S. Remember to tell your friends and family they snakes aren't real. They have scared at least five people who have passed by my garden which, to me, shows how lifelike they must look to pests!

(More customer reviews)I have squirrels that drain my birdfeeder within hours of me filling it so I was looking for a solution. Thought I would try this. The plastic insert is so thin and chintsy that it will never hold up to long term use. The bottom piece that is supposed to "hook" into the little notches would not hook in - so immediately upon filling the feeder, it drained out the bottom. The flimsy spring that holds the top on and enables the action that pumps the feeder up and down when the squirrels jump on it ostensibly to close the "doors" and disabling their feeding - is so weak that it can't hold the weight of finch food; and the entire thing just collapsed.I returned it to Home Depot the next morning. It is worthless. Don't bother.

We already wore out our first one and decided to replace it.The first one lasted nearly a decade.

It's such a simple design, but they seem to really love it.The nails are nice and long, so it holds the corn cobs on really well.

Twirl-a-Squirrel Baffle, Green Review

(More customer reviews)I picked up one of these to try to keep my bird seed being eaten by the birds in my backyard instead of the greedy squirrels.(There is a squirrel feeder in the yard as well, but the squirrels still climb up and go for the more expensive bird seed.)

I give it 3 stars because it is a bit more finicky than I would have hoped for.According to the instructions that come with it:

1) Works on feeders up to 8 pounds - not 10 as described above in the description.My feeder is on the edge.

2) You can't hang it from a rope of anything else not rigid. My feeder hangs from a long chain and already has a rain guard over it.Due to weight if I put the Twirl-a-Squirrel above that chain and guard then I exceed the weight limit and the instructions say I can't hang it off the end of the chain so it is kind of limiting.

3) It triggers when it detects 1 pound of weight. Unfortunately this is sensistive enough to go off just from birds using the feeder.It is not uncommon for there to be 10+ birds on the feeder and sometimes another will land "hard" on the bottom of the feeder and start the twirling.

4) Instructions say to take it down when windy.I haven't had it long enough to know how sensitive it is going to be to wind yet but this does concern me as it is often windy in my backyard.

5) If your feeder has a screwed in hook on top of it then the twirl-a-squirrel can unscrew it from the feeder when it rotates.Not a problem for me but could be for others.

On the plus side it does a great job of chasing away the squirrels so far and the birds have been persistent with dealing with the false alarms that send them flying away.

I hope this has been helpful to others who are considering giving this a try.I give it a thumbs up overall and recommend it.

Unfortunately, the sqirrels get bored with it and go back to the bird seed. They were hysterical to watch, but don 't buy this if your trying to lure sqirrels AWAY from your birdfeeder.

Squngee Squirrel Feeder Review

(More customer reviews)We bought it after months of struggling with squirrels monopolizing our bird feeder.We figured why not get some fun out of the situation and purchased the squngee.We have not regretted the purchase.

We attached the squngee to one end of a 3 ft long 2x2 and nailed the other end to the pine tree.We first put it at a height of about a foot and half above the ground to entice the squirrel and make sure the little bastard knows how to use it.Well, it did not take long for the little guy to figure it out (I swear this squirrel is smarter than me).But then the fun really started.We increased the height to over 2 feet, and it became challenging for the squirrel to get to the corn.

Eventually the squirrel resorted to either jumping/flying from the tree to "hop" on the corns, or jumping up from the ground. Once he is on the corns, he needs all of his legs to hold on so he uses his teeth to pull off the kernels on the ground.Then he hops off and eats for a while on the ground.When he is on the corns, the squngee bounces back and forth and it is extremely fun to watch.This whole event transpires in about 5 - 10 seconds.But he will do this over and over again until he is full or there is no more corn.There are a couple of squirrels by us and it takes about 3 - 5 days before the corns are emptied.

Guests are always curious to see it.. and those that are timely enough to watch it in action always walk away giggling and amused.
