Control a Cat - Remote Control Toy Review

Control a Cat - Remote Control Toy
Average Reviews:

This amazing remote control device absolutely operated just as advertised. I'll admit I was a little skeptical, but after reading the full product description I was convinced it was exactly what I needed. I gave it as a present to my daughter who always has trouble controlling her feline. We were immediately impressed; she pointed at her cat, pressed the "Sleep" button, and voila! The cat snoozed for hours! The "Remain Aloof" function works like a charm, and the "Show Affection" button, while a bit sketchy, was especially reliable close to feeding time. The trio of "Get Off" buttons work best if you throw the remote really close to the cat as you press the buttons. I initially worried that none of the three "Stop" functions were working, but eventually discovered that yelling loudly while pushing those buttons did the trick.

I read the 1-star review posted here, but I have to disagree with that assessment. From the tone of that review I suspect the user may have had a problem with the "POWERED BY POSITIVE THINKING" requirement. I have noticed that on those rare occasions when the device doesn't work, I'm feeling pretty cross or cranky. That usually happens when I've not pressed the "Use Litter Tray" in a while and had to clean up a dirty corner. So if you want to get the best results with your cat, think happy thoughts!

This is holding up better than most stuffed animals I get for my border collie mix. It's easier to throw, and goes farther. But the tennis ball is very heavy, so watch out for furniture if you're throwing it inside.

Kyjen Plush Puppies Water Bottle Buddy Dog Dog Toy Review

This toy is a great idea.My dogs loved the crackling sound that came from having an empty water bottle inside. A couple of weeks ago I bought one from another company. The fabric was much sturdier than this toy has. My dogs loved it so I decided to buy a couple more. For variety, I decided to order this toy thinking it would be just as sturdy. Within half an hour, my dog had bits of the fabric scattered all over the floor. She is having fun with it so I gave it three stars.By tomorrow morning, though, I think the body will have to be thrown away.

AKC Rabbit Dog Toy Review

Before purchasing the Jakks Pacific Plush Rabbit, I had purchased two similar squeaking plush toys (goose and pheasant, respectively) from Petsmart. Both of those toys lasted a few weeks, if that, and cost about five dollars more than the plushes offered here.

I knew this was the real deal when I saw it was A.K.C. approved and it hasn't disappointed me yet.I've got a 70lb Dalmatian/Lab mix that's played with this toy since May and I have yet to find a piece missing from it. If you're looking for a clean, durable plush for your pet, Jakks Pacific is the way to go.

I was surprised to find how much fun I had in "stuffing" my dog's own toy.He loves squirrels and squeakers, and the kit also included a rattle and a "crinkle" like insert. As for the ad, when it says "no sewing required, it's because it closes with velcro.I'm not sure if this will become a problem, but I think the dog won't be able to open it.

After seeing these "hide-a-squirrel" and egg babies toys for a while, I just couldn't picture my 40lb boxer mix puppy (13 months) doing anything but tearing it up and swallowing the eggs. But she doesn't.She gets the eggs out, sets them aside, and looks for more.Once the eggs are out, there's really no stuffing to worry about (except the head, but she's not interested in that part). She did get a LITTLE batting out of the cavity where the eggs go - but the seam stayed in tact.If you're having a hard time picturing what these are all about, see the video!

Kyjen Ruff 'N Tuff Real Leather Tugs Dog Toy Review

Kyjen Ruff 'N Tuff Real Leather Tugs Dog Toy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Since we adopted our black lab as a 2.5 month old puppy, this has been his absolute favorite toy! Even before his mouth was strong enough to squeeze the fat octopus's head he enjoyed shaking it around so that the legs would hit him in the face & smack the floor (you know, the way dogs love to shake stuff)! He has tons of squeaky toys, but this is always the one he chooses when someone comes outside to play. It's just great to see him so filled with glee when he bounds around with it in his mouth, or successfully gets it to groan and squeak at the same time, and the rattle makes noise even with the gentlest touch. This toy is probably a dog's dream stuffed toy come true!

We've had this toy for about 2 months now and everything is still in tact despite rigorous use & tug of war. Even the hair on "Mr. Octopus's" head isn't budging. Best dog toy ever!

Fling-it Squirrel Review

Fling-it Squirrel
Average Reviews:

We have an american bulldog pup who loves to fetch this toy. What I like about it is the tail retracts - which for me allows me to grab the tail while it's in my pups mouth so that I can throw it again. Also, I can swing the toy around my head by the tail - getting the pup excited to go fetch it.In terms of quality, my pup hasn't chewed a hole yet but at first I was very weary about the quality. We just lost the fluffy part on the tail, which is why I am purchasing another. The retractable tail doesn't look durable - but it is.We've played a bit of tug of war over this (which is clearly not recommended on the packaging) the tail has remained in-tact except for the fully tail cover. This toy is good quality and lots of fun for the price.

This is a great toy for dogs.It is durable and my dogs keep playing with it after the food is all gone.Like one of the other reviews said, the holes are large but if you put a tennis ball in with the food is inhibits the food from going out the holes as fast. Also I have found if you put a ball with a bell inside of it instead of food it will keep your dog busy for hours. They can't get it out but boy do they try.I have three border collies and ONE of these toys and my boys are very aggressive at play. After a month this toy barely looks used and I use it every other day.Again, great toy and it is big enough to put other things in it besides food.

Premier Busy Buddy Puppy Squirrel Dude Dog Toy Review

Premier Busy Buddy Puppy Squirrel Dude Dog Toy
Average Reviews:

So, I wanted a little variety in my kongs so I tried Squirrel Dude. I had read he was like Kong. It's the same theory only with a cute design.

No.

There are three really huge differences.
1. Kong is made in the USA and Squirrel Dude is made in China. I'm not some protectionist zealot as a general matter, but China has dumped enough scary crap on us in the last few years that I am trying to avoid it. Plus, people HERE need jobs. And my dog toys don't need to travel across an ocean.

2. Squirrel Dude smells like pool toys or a new shower curtain. He has that smelly plastic stench. It doesn't really bother me, but if I were supposed to be sucking, chewing and coaxing my food and entertainment out of it, it would drive me nuts.

3. My dog uses his kong and ignores Squirrel Dude. So, why buy squirrel dude?

Premier Squirrel Dude Dog Toy Review

Our dog won't touch a toy unless it's filled with food. She's figured a lot of the puzzle toys out, and cleans out a classic Kong in record time.I really needed something to keep her occupied for an extended time, and Squirrel Dude is my man. It's similar to a classic Kong, except it has four flexible, triangular tabs in the opening. You can control the "flow" of food--simply leave the tabs as is to make the dog's job harder, or trim them so the food falls out faster. You'll have to gauge it based on the size of the treat you plan to use, and how dedicated your dog is.We like to fill this with smaller treats--kibble, bits of chicken jerky, Zuke's, and broken-up biscuits, so I just barely trimmed each tab and it works great. She'll work at this off and on all day, and sometimes will take longer than a day to empty it. We've had Squirrel Dude about six months--he takes a beating every day and has held up incredibly well. This was truly money well spent.

I bought this for my new lab puppy and her 3 year old border collie sister. Both of my dogs tend to play really rough with thier toys and always tear them up within days of buying them. This squirrel has lasted over teo weeks without so much as a stitch loose. I love that it has nothing inside for the dogs to strew across the house. 2 thumbs up!

AKC Squirrel Dog Toy Review

AKC Squirrel Dog Toy
Average Reviews:

I can say that this AKC squirrel instantly became my dog's favorite toy the second she saw it.The squirrel is exceptionally realistic looking, especially from a distance.I set the toy out on the lawn and the dog, already an avid squirrel chaser, took off after it like a bullet. It is the only squirrel she has ever been able to catch! She immediately took it and ran with it into the house and jumped up on the bed to chew on it (which I suppose is a preview of coming attractions should she ever happen to catch a real one).I have tried to get her to play with her other toys, but if the squirrel is anywhere in sight, she won't even look at the others. If the squirrel is anywhere she can get to it, she will grab it and go jump up on the bed to gnaw on it.If the squirrel is out of reach, and she can see it, she will stare at the squirrel, then look at me, then stare at the squirrel, then look at me, until I can't stand it any more and either give it to her or hide it.So why only 3 stars?Unfortunately, the squirrel is a bit fragile for my particular dog. Some reviewers have said that their dog has had this toy for months or years. From that I can surmise that their dog is not a Norrbottenspets.Norrbottenspets are a 'primitive' breed with strong instincts for chasing, catching and gutting small ground animals. It is not surprising that this same fate would be in store for stuffed toys that resemble small ground animals. The squeaker in the tail didn't last 5 minutes before it was pierced by a sharp canine tooth.Next were the feet.I left the room for 10 minutes to take a phone call, and when I returned the squirrel was footless and stuffing was decorating the bed.So I put the toy away and, to make it last a bit longer, I have tried to let her have it only when supervised. However, even that is tricky. She is very good at holding it in her paws and hiding what she is actually doing to it, such as chewing its legs off.And I can't watch her every second. The squirrel lost two legs during a recent bathroom break. So after a week, we are down to a squirrel with only the vestige of one leg remaining, and a tail chewed just about in half.Lately I can see that she has turned her attention to its head. The ears were the first thing to go once that happened.I fully expect that before the month is out, the squirrel will be headless as well. Then it will join company with the five other stuffed animal torsos currently in the sewing room awaiting surgery. So, while this is a great toy, and dogs love it, if you have a toy-shredder like I do, it may not be the best choice for you. It's a bit pricey as a "sacrificial" toy.I can buy similar sized stuffed toys at Pet Club for a couple of bucks, that I don't feel bad about just throwing away once they become a legless, decapitated torso.I found a small stuffed toy dog there (at least I think it started out as a dog) that was constructed in a way that the legs and ears could be chewed off without getting into the body cavity, and the head and torso are basically one piece. So, while it, too, has been reduced to a legless, earless head/torso, the squeaker still works and the what is left of it is not leaking any stuffing. That one has gone a few months and is still hanging in there (although you can't tell what it used to be.It looks like a fuzzy cylinder). It only cost $3.97.
